Karen Skinner is a Principal Consultant with ISBE where she has worked for the past three years to coordinate the Illinois State Seal of Biliteracy and assist districts with implementing world language and English learner programs. With a background in Spanish teaching and counseling, Karen is passionate about elevating bilingualism as a recognized credential. She is dedicated to ensuring students' bilingual skills are acknowledged, empowering them to open doors to future opportunities. Karen believes that promoting bilingualism not only benefits students but also addresses a crucial need in today’s workforce, preparing individuals to succeed in our globalized society and economy.
