"Dr. Stacey Jones Bock is Senior Associate Dean in the College of Education at Illinois State University and Co-PI on the Redbird Educator Scholars Program, and the Center for Intensive Behavioral Supports and the Autism Professional Learning and Universal Supports projects. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Kansas, where she co-authored the Asperger Syndrome Diagnostic Scale upon completing her dissertation. Dr. Jones Bock receives invitations to present at conferences, create webinars, write journal articles, and consult for large school districts across the country. She's written grants and received funding totaling over $9 million.
Maria Luisa Zamudio is the director of the Redbird Educator Scholars Program at Illinois State University's College of Education, a role she has held since fall 2023. Previously, she served as executive director of the National Center for Urban Education (NCUE) for five years and coordinated the bilingual-bicultural program in the School of Teaching and Learning. With 23 years in higher education, Zamudio has led study abroad programs in Mexico and Spain and successfully managed multimillion-dollar federal grants (2004–2023) that supported bilingual paraprofessionals in becoming teachers.
Zamudio frequently teaches Cross-Cultural Teaching and Learning for Educators and is committed to preparing future urban educators. She holds a Ph.D. in higher education administration and a master’s in Latin American literature and culture from Illinois State University, as well as a bachelor’s in business administration from IEST-Anáhuac Tampico, Mexico.
